First Saturday – Open Archives

October 6, 2018 | 11:00 am-4:00 pm

Free

On the first Saturday of the month, The Chestnut Hill Conservancy’s archives are free to the public from 11am to 4pm.

Discover details about your home, street or family through architectural drawings, photos, maps, real estate atlases, deeds, and diaries. Archivist Alex Bartlett will guide you through the 20,000+ items to find just what you’re looking for!

The Chestnut Hill Conservancy maintains a rapidly growing, professionally managed collection of more than 20,000 items documenting the community’s architectural and social history from the 1680s to the present. The collection contains architectural drawings and other records; more than 8,200 photographic images; maps including real estate atlases from the 1870s through the 1930s; prints, drawings, deeds, diaries, genealogical materials, books, taped and transcribed oral histories, and selected objects. The collection is available to the public for research purposes.
