Join the Chestnut Hill Conservancy for Ask the Experts: Recycled Landscapes on Wednesday, October 23, with Hans Hesselein, RLA, LEED AP, and Martha Keen of Apiary Studio. Apiary Studio is a Philadelphia-based design/build landscape practice specializing in creating sustainable landscapes from materials often considered waste.

During this virtual lecture, Hans and Martha will share their approach to giving recycled materials and disused spaces a second life. They will discuss the design challenges and opportunities of working with materials from demolition sites, scraps, and cutoffs. Their presentation will highlight the importance of thoughtful craft and sustainable construction in landscape design, showing how the lightest touch can often lead to the most impactful solutions.
