Honoring Charlie Dilks

The Chestnut Hill Conservancy is proud to recognize Charlie Dilks at this year’s Gala. Charlie’s commitment to the conservation of our natural resources is remarkable. His impact extends beyond the Conservancy. He has served in leadership positions in other environmental and conservation organizations including Natural Lands Trust, the Schuylkill Center, the Friends of Philadelphia Parks (now the Fairmount Park Conservancy), Friends of the Wissahickon and the PA Environmental Council. At the time, each organization was going through a transition and benefited from his leadership. Charlie feels most proud of having led them to growth and financial stability.

It has been particularly important to him to preserve open space through conservation easements, including those secured for his family home in Mt Airy and their farm in Maryland.

Charlie’s passion for sustaining our beautiful shared common ground is ever present in his contribution and vision to help grow and support the
Conservancy’s work. One example of his impact is through our Catalyst level of membership. By helping to establish this level of support, he played a pivotal role in securing vital funding to make the Conservancy’s Easement Manager position full-time, ensuring the continued success of our conservation efforts.

Thank you, Charlie, for your impact on our shared causes and your continued dedication to preserving this unique and special place for future generations to enjoy.

 The Gala is the only major fundraiser of the year and raises critical funding for the Conservancy that supports work throughout the year.
