Night of Lights!
October 6, 6:30-10pmOn Friday, October 6th, the Chestnut Hill Conservancy is debuting Night of Lights, a street-long spectacular to “illuminate history” along the Germantown Avenue commercial corridor.
During this one evening, historical images, films and quotations from the Conservancy’s Archives will be projected through storefront windows and onto select exterior walls. Neighboring buildings along Germantown Avenue will be illuminated with theatrical lights, casting colors, patterns, and shadows to highlight their unique architectural features. These will be enhanced with live music and interactive elements inviting visitors to share their own historical images, learn about area histories, and make their own light art. Businesses along one of the city’s most vibrant commercial corridors will be open late, with many contributing proceeds from the event to help support the Archives!
Presented in celebration of the Chestnut Hill Conservancy & Historical Society’s 50th Anniversary, Night of Lights is organized in partnership with the Chestnut Hill Business District and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. An opening reception at the VFW Building will include an opportunity for VIPs to “Flip the Switch” to kick off the event.
