Each gathering will be themed according to the season and will be designed to introduce children to all of the unique people and places that make Chestnut Hill a special place to call home. All ages are welcome.

This series is FREE for members with young children and $15/family for non-members. (Become a member today and register free!)

Tree Adventure Tour at the Morris Arboretum

Can you name all the parts of a tree? At this month’s Explorers’ Club, students will learn about the ‘job’ of each part of the tree and how it has to keep the tree healthy! Attendees will also think about their responsibilities to help trees thrive (like avoiding compacting soil, not to pick leaves, carve names into the bark, etc.). Tours begin on the terrace in front of the Visitor Center. The guided tour lasts approximately one hour, and concludes at the Out on a Limb treehouse exhibit, which is self-guided. For all ages. Register here!

2-4 pm

Orchard Visit with Cider-Making at Erdeheim Farm

Bring your family to visit Erdenheim Farm, a 450-acre working farm located just outside of Chestnut Hill! The farm produces various vegetable and fruit crops, as well as beef and lamb. After touring the historic sheep barn and hearing about the farm’s history and its current workings, you and your family will make and drink apple cider! Very limited space. A waiver for all participants is required.

2-4 pm

Chestnut Hill Fire Station

Visit this beautiful community treasure. See the fire trucks and learn why it was added to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places.
